Our Programming

Current Programs

IGU offers programming in cooperation with the Celiac Disease Program at Children’s National Health System, to educate families on how to live with Celiac Disease, a common autoimmune disease often associated with other autoimmune diseases.

Through this partnership, IGU and the Celiac Disease Program have successfully held 25 Nutrition Education Classes, a Gluten-Free Educational series held at the Wildfire Restaurant in Tyson’s Corner, Va., and at a special kitchen at the Children’s National Health System; broadcast webinars on living gluten free and other aspects of Celiac and other autoimmune diseases; provided educational programming at the Washington DC Gluten Free Expo; and supported an abstract presented at the International Celiac Disease Symposium held in Prague, July 2015.

One of our most successful programs is our educational video series on how to live a gluten-free lifestyle.  These videos are meant to alleviate some of the confusion and frustration of a newly diagnosed patient and their families; explaining issues such as cross-contamination and which products are safe to buy at the grocery store.
